In 1830, Our Lady appeared three times to Catherine Labouré, then a novice with the Daughters of Charity in Paris. She asked Catherine to create a medal depicting one of the apparitions during which Our Lady appeared amidst rays of light, twelve stars, and other symbols. Known today as the Miraculous Medal, its purpose is to spread the message of immense graces obtained through faith in its promises.
